Ham Radio License Exams (VE Testing)




Amateur radio license exams, commonly known as VE testing, is conducted by volunteer amateur radio operators around the area.
The test consists of 35 questions, and tests your knowledge of
various ham radio practices and electronics.

TEST DAY INFORMATION


Testing sessions occur the second Thursday of each month and are held at:

Beaver County Emergency Operations Center
351 14th Street
Ambridge, PA 15003

Time: 5:00 P.M.

All candidates wishing to take the test should bring ALL of the following:

1. Two (2) forms of identification. One should be a Photo ID.
2. A pencil and a blue or black pen.
3. Your original AND a photocopy of your current license (if any).
4. Your original AND a photocopy of any C.S.C.E’s (if any).
5. The test fee of $15.00 in cash.
6. Your email address and your FCC FRN Number.

All classes of amateur radio license tests will be administered.

Question Pool Schedule

TECHNICIAN Class (Element 2) Pool is effective July 1, 2022
and is valid until June 30, 2026.

GENERAL Class (Element 3) Pool is effective July 1, 2019 and is
valid until June 30, 2023.

EXTRA Class (Element 4) Pool is effective July 1, 2020 and is
valid until June 30, 2024.

The Technician pool was revised in 2022.
The General pool was revised in 2019. Next update is 2023.
The Extra pool was revised n in 2020. Next update is 2024.
No question pools will be updated or released in 2025.
The question pool review is part of a regular process.
Each question pool is reviewed and updated on a four year rotation.
